I have several WD hard drives that have failed in one way or another and subsequently tested ok. They are a couple of older 40 Gb SATA drives that couldn't be written to, a 320 Gb that showed a SMART failure, and a 500 Gb that had a bad MBR sector. The 500 Gb drive failed the WD quick test and advanced test. I then scrubbed the drive and retested it. Then it passed the quick and advanced tests. And subsequently, all the drives passed the advanced test.
So can I trust these drives again?
