Hi,
I would remove the drivers completely from within device manager and restart
the computer. It should then find the sound card and attempt to load
drivers. When it does, point the search towards the win98 disk in the cdrom.
That way, hopefully, if the right drivers are contained on the disk, new
ones (undamaged) will be loaded and installed.
