I also have a (working) Archive tape drive, although
it is not the same model (5440) as yours. It is 10
years old and uses QIC 40 tape cartridges.

My Archive tape drive will only work with the Quick Stream
(QS) backup program. I also tested it with the built in Windows
95 tape drive backup program, but it didn't work for it.

If you like, I can send you a copy of my QS tape drive program.
It may, or may not, work with your Archive model. It is quite
old and only works in DOS.
