Well, first off, I advise against inheriting someone else's windows install,
it makes for tough maintenance since you can never troubleshoot effectively
on a pc you know little about. I recommend formating and reinstalling.
That said, there are a couple of easy outs for Microsoft network computers
running windows nt or 2000. At the login prompt, change the user to
administrator, and change the domain to the one that says '(this computer)'.
Chances are fair that the password is really simple, '1234', or even blank.

I am assuming your asking this question because the computers are not
running win98 and you want to preserve the high end windows version that is
on them. You could consider reformating them as win98, which would be
considerably cheaper to license than the existing operating system, and may
prove more than adequate in your environment.

Our school was donated some computers that were previously on a network. We
are trying to get them onto our network, but I do not know the password for
the previous one, so I cannot get into the system to add this computer to
our domain. Does anyone know how I can get in to do this?
