I certainly am no expert, but I have had my share and fill of Iomega
products. My jaz drive died with loss of data, then my Zip drive suffered
from "COD", and of course loss of data. The only good thing i can say is
that Iomega did replace the Zip drive and 11 disks two years out of
warranty. This is their policy on COD problems. Unfortunately the jaz was
not a COD problem, so it is a door stop at this point. Just remember that a
bad disk can ruin a good drive, and a bad drive can ruin a good disk, ergo
should you encounter COD, i would recommend not using them till they are
replaced.
As to what to use instead, I believe i'll put my money in the Sony HI-FD
when it comes out in other forms, i.e. internal and IDE or SCSI.
