Hello!

I have a Umax laptop (model 330T) with an AMD K6-2 with 3D now (or whatever
it's called) running at 300Mh w/ 64 MB of RAM, 12.1 TFT screen and 4.3 G
hard drive (already filling up!).

It is quite fast, seems to go faster than a P2 266 made by the same folk and
runs hot. The screen is beginning to show some blotching in a 1" x 2" area
near the top. The sound system is very quiet, and a call to tech support was
pointless. All in all, out of the three times I called them, their tech folk
seemed quite uninformed.

Considering all the aspects (including price), I think I've got a good deal.
I have recently noticed that others (Tiger Direct) are selling the exact
same notebook under their own name. Last word....an experienced person I
know rates Umax computers number three, behind Dell and Micron.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know anything about UMAX computers? Have they been in business
very long? What is their reputation like?

Thank you,
Susan Hays
