I installed a new v.90 Zoom
internal at work and it only
connects at 26,400,
and I've isolated the problem
to the phone lines. Do you
think one of those
phone filters would help?

Besides the phone system being
involved within a "PBX"
system, there are ISP's out
there that you can only reach
the speed you indicated.
Netcom is one of them. When I
asked about it, they (Tech
Support) told me that this is
the highest speed that you can
get. <smile>

I set up a system for a client
and they connect to AOL and
the connect speed I noticed
when I was there was very
close to the max.......Go
figure.

In any case, the attached url
is a like to 3Com and
instructions on how to test a
phone line to see if it will
accept or run at 53K or
higher. Why only 53K? The law
says..........As we know doubt
know.

The phone company may also
have something to do with it
due to the fact the telephone
lines and some of the
equipment they have in the
switching area's is old and
out dated.

Give the instructions a try.
You may be surprised at the
results.
