"Can anyone give me some information on File Splitters?"

By far, the best file splitter I have run across, and used
successfully for some time, is SplitIt95. It is extremely reliable,
easy to use, and has saved my skin more than once. It is free, and
you can download it from ZDNet's Software Library at:
http://www6.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/info.html?fcode=000
H7T .

FYI, when I download a large file, especially an installation file for
a program for which I paid big bucks, I usually back it up onto
floppies. But Microsoft's backup deserves the "less than reliable"
reputation, and it's probably a good idea to back up those important
programs more than once. So in addition to the backup(s) I usually
split the big file and COPY the split files to floppies. I just had a
case where my backups failed when I tried to restore them, because the
"installation file is corrupted." Thanks to SplitIt95, I joined the
files, and successfully restored one of my major programs.

Good luck.
