Hi folks,

I am going to be getting a new Dell Dimension 4100 computer shortly and
would like to have an ATI Radeon 32M DDR video card installed in it. I also
have an ATI TV Wonder card at present in my current system, and would like
to transfer that into my new PC as well. I understand however, that there
may be an incompatibility here, in that the software called Multimedia
Center that comes with the Radeon is incompatible with the TV Wonder
drivers. The ATI website says the fix is to uninstall the Multimedia Center
and reinstall the TV Wonder driver if you want to use the TV tuner.

My questions are:

Can you install the individual components of the Multimedia Center so as to
avoid the TV Tuner component?

If I uninstall the Multimedia Center altogether so that I can use the TV
tuner, what do I lose from the overall functionality? In particular, I want
to add a DVD Drive, so I want to know if disabling the Multimedia Center
will affect the playback of DVD's. I would hate to sacrifice DVD's for the
TV or vice versa.

Does anyone have a Radeon with the Multimedia Center version 7 that can shed
some light on just what the program does, and what is the functionality of
the Radeon card with respect to DVDs if it is not installed, etc.

Many thanks,

Michael
