Do you have the Plextor Manager software running (look in the tray
or check to see if it's loaded at startup) when you try to do a
burn with Nero? That may be a problem.

Have you downloaded the latest update to Nero5? (If you got Nero
on CDROM, there have been a half dozen updates since version 5.00.)

What operating system are you using? (Win95, 98, NT4, 2000?)
This information might help others give you suggestions.

I have a Plextor 16/8/32 SCSI drive and use it with Win2000.
I got the exact same error message you are getting every time I
tried to burn a CD. After a month, it occurred to me that
running Plextor Manager all the time might be a problem. I also
upgraded to the latest version of Nero 5. (I did both at the same
time and don't know which solved my problem.)

Have you checked at Plextor's website to see if your Plextor
burner has any firmware updates? Both my Plextor reader and burner
needed firmware updates before they would work reliably. (While
you're at Plextor's website, download the latest Plextor Manager
software. While I can't run it while using Nero, the Plextor
Clone program is useful on its own. It's been updates as well.)

Do you have a good "ASPI layer" installed? Check at Plextor's
website for information on ASPI drivers. I use Adaptec's ASPI
drivers. However, they only work if you have Adaptec hardware.
There are other ASPI drivers out there.

Regards,
Bill
