I had this same problem for about a month before I found that in my BIOS the
FDC or Floppy disk controller was set to "disabled". I don't know how it
happened but it took me a long time to find out. I had tried 2 other floppy
drives, 2 other IDE cables and different power connectors. I then went
through the BIOS checking thoroughly each item until I found that the
Controller was disabled. I hope this helps.

Carol

After doing some work inside of my pc my floppy drive
is no longer working. The power light will not go of
and when I try to access the drive I get the following
error message. A:\ is not accessible The device is
not ready. retry or cancel. I am getting power and I
have rechecked the ribbon time and time again. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Francisco
