Hi All,
I'm planning on putting together a 486 for my sister. When I went to
the local parts store to buy a modem for it, they informed me that
production of modems compatible with 486 computers had stopped. If
necessary, I'll haunt the used parts store to get a 33.6 or 28.8, but
first I decided to ask the gurus and wannabee-gurus on the list if there
is a way to configure a 56k modem to work with a 486. It doesn't make any
difference to me whether the modem is pci or isa. The system is as
follows: 486dx4-100 cpu; 16 mb ram; win 95B os; 850 mb hard drive. Any
help will be greatly appreciated. TIA
   Yours,
   Mike Yates
