The short answer to "is it possible?" is "yes", but your second sentence
suggests that a longer answer will be needed.

Is the drive you want to transfer acting as the default boot drive in its
current home? Do you want it to do so in its new home? Do you want to have
a single machine with both dirves in it, and a choice of which to bbot from?
Do you want to boot from either drive, but be able to see files on both?
Do you have physical space and connectors available in the machine? Is the
drive compatible with the controller(s) in the machine, or will you have to
add one?

The answers to these sorts of questions will complicate the "yes"; one or
two might even make it "usually, but not in your case".
