I also asked this question awhile back with no response.  The only way I
found was  to boot from the original CD and when it detects the previous
system on the hard drive, select the repair option.  Make sure you have your
serial number ready and you may later have to reactivate your system.

How can I get Windows XP to run on a new motherboard/CPU if the Win XP
system is installed on a hard drive carried over from my previous computer?
