Gentlemen & Ladies,

I have rebuilt a failed system with pretty much all new parts;
    Gigbyte   MA785GMT-UD2H Mobo
    AMD       Phenom II x 4  3.4GHz
    2 x 2Gb 1333 Mhz Memory
    Nvidia 260 Video Card
    Plextor PX-B940SA Blu Ray Internal Drive
    500 MB Seagate Hard drive\

Every thing loaded fine am runnig Vista. My problem came up when I start
loading Updates from MS. I ran into one that shut the machine down, run
through
the classic "Configuring update - do not shut off machine. Step 1 of 3
. . . etc.
When step 3 ends the system reboots and starts over, and over, and over
endlessly.
Where does this command emanate from? How do I interrupt it and delete that
update?
Has any one seen this?
