I am accustomed to make multiple partitions off one physical drive. I just
got a 80GB for video. In the old days, smaller partitions runs faster since
there are less file to deal with. With all the advanement in PC speed, HD
speed, is it's still necessary to do that? The only advantage of creating
multiple partitions I can think of is multiple system boot system that each
partition houses a system.

What is the current thought on this issue?

Thanks,

Changhsu Liu
