For the price of an Intel 200 MMX you can get the K-6 266 MMX. So you pick
up a 33% gain in raw processor speed. I have been told that the K-6
outperforms the P-5 series in everything excerpt CPU. I have played games
on both machines and cannot honestly tell the difference (i.e. Quake, Quake
II, the Mech series, etc). As a gamer, you really should pay more attention
to the video card. I have seen systems with Cyrix MX chips look good when
they are teamed with a good vid card in games. ... in other words, not all
games decrease in perfomance simply on the FPU performance.
