You should get a Win98 Boot disk "image file" from the NoSpin
site,(this version will come with CD-Support).
Write it to a floppy.
Set your BIOS to boot from floppy (if it is not set to boot first
from floppy now), and see if the CD-ROM will work in DOS.
If not, most of the other troubleshooting steps will not be very useful.

From a strictly "hardware" sense, I'd also check that the cables
did not somehow "fall off" or become slightly a "little looser?".

Since it was working, you might want to see if the BIOS setting
for it has changed. Some of my MBs do not mind if I set the CD
location for "Auto", but generally speaking NONE (or equivalent)
works better. (My BIOSs are all "Award" ver 4 to 6)
(Write down what the settings are and what you change them to
so you can keep track of what you have done...)
