I use mine in a PS2 port in Windows 2000 Server, and Win98se, and I have
never had a problem. I also use a Logitech cordless Mouseman optical in XP
without a problem. Since you have already taken one mouse back, and it
happens in both PS2, and USB ports I would suspect either something on the
board, a compatibility issue, or something with the the drivers or OS.

First thing I would do is boot off a floppy, load a mouse driver and then
load up <Edit> and see if the mouse is working OK. Keep trying this until
you have confidence that the all the hardware is working OK.

If everything is working OK in DOS then the hardware is OK and the
problem is probably in windows.

Check in the BIOS to see if you have it set to Plug and Play and change it
to NON P&P or vice versa.

Use device manager to see if you have any kind of a conflict, IRQ, DMA, or
a memory address. Try moving things around so devices are reassigned.

I have the Elite cordless Keyboard with MX700 mouse and I love these
peripherals. I have used cordless Mouseman since Logitech came out with the
very first cordless mouse in1994, and in all those years, I very rarely ran
into a problem. But when I did, it always turned out to be a compatibility
problem between the mouse and another device.
