New pieced-together system. Everything went fine except:
1) Windows 2000 Pro assigned all PnP peripherals to IRQ 9
2) AMD T-Bird 1GHz shows as ~757MHZ in admin tools
System:
Asus A7V with AMD TBird 1GHz (100MHz x 10.0 freq. mult.)
256MB name-brand memory (PC133 DIMM)
WesDig 30GB 7200rpm ATA100
DSS PCI wavetable sound card in slot 3
Realtek NIC in slot 4
Viper 770 (32MB / TnT2) in AGP
Using BIOS, I assigned IRQ manually to each PCI slot and set PnP OS to
"No" - no change. Tried swapping cards in and out, changing slots - no
change. In device mgr. the autoconfig resources is checked and grayed out,
so I don't know how to force IRQ per device. Strange thing is even with
ATA100, sound, NIC, video, ACPI, and VIA USB all sharing IRQ 9, the system
seems to perform well. Also, in system info it shows AMD at ~757 MHz. The
CPU says 1000MHz on it (I checked before latching down the fan). I tried
the "JumperFree" mode, using BIOS to set 100MHz @ 10.0 Freq. Mult. I tried
jumpered mode (1 extra dip switch than is shown in manual...must be on or
system does not boot), which prompts Win2K to display the same ~757 MHz.
Bios Award Medallion 6.0, A7V Rev 1.04.

Any insights, things to try, ideas?
