I finally got around to testing my power supply and it seems to be completely dead. I have two questions.

  1. Should I replace it with the same model or get something else considering it blew out.

  2. Is there a way to test the motherboard and other parts to see if they are working before purchasing a power supply?

If everything in the computer is shot, I think it might be more economical to just get another one.

I have an e-machine T2885, with power supply Bestec model atx-250

  thanks.
