     Yes, but it's becoming more and more difficult. Most memory modules now
use house numbering, making it difficult to determine what kind of chip it
is. Usually you would use the number of chips on the board and the markings
on the chip to determine the size of each chip. Using this information you
can figure out the wide of the data bus, a non ECE DIMM would have 64 bits
per address, ECC would have more, not sure how much, probably an extra 8
bits. The best way to tell is to use a board that has ECC support and let it
autodetect, most boards display what type of memory you've installed. There
are standalone testers but they aren't cheap. TTYL
