Ray,
Are these USB mice?  I know that USB mice don't work in W98 safe mode as the
USB drivers are not loaded.

4 hard drives setup as docking system.  One hard drive installed internally

Has worked satisfactory for about a year, but am not sure if it is now
causing the problem. Problem: Mouse works fine in regular mode but
Will not work in safe mode on either OS.  Device Manager always
Reports that mouse is working fine. If I format and reinstall Win 98
 mouse Works ok until the first reboot: it doesn't work again until after
The second reboot; This happens only on win 98.  I have tried
Two different types of mouse but it doesn't correct the problem.
Logitec Mouseman Wheel model M-CW47 and Logitech cordless
Wheel mouse , drivers updated. No viruses on system.
