Hi,

Heard of it before, Don't remember the solution or complete situation.
Think it is a bad PS/2 port.

why not try a different mouse? If optical - use a ball type or visa versa

If Ps/2 - try a USB version.

or get a usb to ps/2 converter and use the ps/2 that way.

All are faily inexpensive options.

Thanks,

Joe

My friend has a problem that I haven't heard of before. Hopefully someone
here can have an answer.
Upon first start up of her computer the mouse does not load, completely
dead. After restarting the mouse is always recognized and works fine. This
never varies.
I have removed the mouse and reinstalled with latest drivers, have run
Chkdsk with repair box checked from Safe Mode, then on an off chance ran
defrag. No help.

Dell Dimension 4300
Intel P4 1.60 ghz
WinXP Home
PS/2 mouse
