I have a Dell Dimension 8250 which I wanted to use for video editing.
I purchased a Matrox Parhelia video and discovered that Matrox
recommended a 400 W power supply especially if a Matrox editing board
will also be used.

Problem number 1 - Dell doesn't make a 400 W power supply for the 8250.

Problem number 2 - I found a Fortron F5p550-60-PLN 550 W power supply
at Newegg.com which I thought would fit the Dell. Supprise (to me),
the ATX plug to the motherboard doesn't fit the plug on the Dimension's
motherboard.

It appears that Dell uses a propritary motherboard.

I searched the PCBUILD archive and now am aware of the Dell mobo problem
but wonder if any company now produces a Dell compatable power supply.

Does anyone know of a 400 watt or better power supply which will fit a
Dell Dimension 8250?

 Thanks,
