Al: The 16mb memory loss is probably your built-in video card.

The floppy problem is something different,  try drag and drop.

For the CDROM go into device manager, delete your cd drive and drivers -
make sure you have the right drivers and or CD disk for the CDROM  handy -
then reboot. Windows she detect and reinstall your CDROM but you may have to
update the drivers manually.
