I have an Afreey 45X drive model CD1845E that quit on me. I was in the
middle of playing a game when the music started to
repeat itself. Since I thought that maybe it was toast I took it apart
and cleaned the head on it. I noticed that the head move back and forth
easily to where it was attached. Should this not be fixed? The drive is
recognized when I boot the computer up and the tray still can be opened. Is
there anyway of fixing this or should I just buy a new one? The drive is a
little over a year old.
I have mounted the drive above my CD-RW drive. Could this cause a heat
problem as I notice that drive was quit warm when it crashed? There is no
room between the drives for air circulation.
