I have used CNET Tracker ( http://www.cnet.com/techtracker-free/ ). It
covers a large range of programs and drivers. My concern for security
directed me to Secunia (
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/ ) to keep my online
activity programs up to date. I have also used File Hippo (
http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/ ) that I found to be helpful.
These programs are all free.
