Hi,

Had this on a machine some weeks back. Most likely cause is a file called
userinit.exe which is normally found in C:\Windows\System32 folder has been
changed by spyware/malware and then is seen as a threat by your
anti-virus/spyware protection and removed.

To resolve the issue I simply copied userinit.exe from a clean machine and
pasted it into the affected drive in the location above. You'll need to
connect the affected drive to a machine either via a caddy and USB lead or
add it to a machine as a slave via its normal internal cable. You should
then be able to access the Windows folder (assuming the drive isn't password
protected). If it is there are other solutions but they are more complex.

Regards

Mchael.

Subject: [PCBUILD] windows won't open

When I click my username to open windows xp a virus seems to be telling it
to reverse as if I am signing out. Safe mode does the same thing. What is
the next step to solve this?
