Hi Venkat,

Although some computers use Real Time Clock (RTC) chips instead of a
battery, chances are yours uses the CMOS battery. They usually last a long
time (several years) but it's a good idea to keep a spare on hand. The
number is on the battery and the common model for newer PCs is CR-2032 but
verify this information first. You don't want to buy the wrong battery. I
keep my spare batteries in the freezer.

hi list members and seasons greetings to you all.i understand that there is
a battery which powers the computer clock but i am simply unable to locate
it on the mobo.i have two comps and one mobo is via 667 mhz and the other is
asus model P4 GE-MX AND BOTH HAVE WIN 98 SE AS OS.The only battery i find on
both is the cmos one. shall appreciate any light shed on the subject.thanks
