It's pretty simple to do, but you need to make sure you have the right
input source selected and the right cables. Cable I can't help you much
with, but if you double-click your speaker icon, you'll get the full
volume control panel. Select Options, from the menu, then properties, then
change "Adjust volume for" to Recording. Make sure all the "Show the
following volume controls" are checked, and hit ok. Turn up your
speakers, hook up your walkman, hit play, then click each "Select" check
box in turn until you hear sound. It's not always the one you think it
is. Good luck.

(PS - recording from cassettes generally results in poor quality recording
- but if that's all you got, that's all you got)
