           While I'm not usually a believer in "coatings" as a repair for
anything.. I have been using a product called" 303 Sonic Blast" on both
audio and CD roms.
It has fixed the annoying "stuttering" that a few music CD's had as well as
made CD roms readable. It can be purchased on the internet.
            As far as the spinning, we have a 1996 NEC Ready machine which
does that when I'm impatient to get the CD out of the machine. Count to 5,
then eject the CD.. that may just be it!!
