Hello there,
Well, creative is not a very good modem anyway. And just because its "popular" does not make it
wonderful. Personally I dont like anything that has their name on it.
Anyway I have a similar setup, and I can tell you that the modem I have is wonderful. You can
also upgrade it to the V.92, but it was suggested that I dont really need that, and it causes
too many problems really.
The one I have is the 3COM/US Robotics 3CP5610A.
I cant find one thing wrong with tbis Modem and it has been a dream.
Cost..........................$90 to $100 depending on where you go. You may be able to get it
cheaper.
Best of luck to you.

A t this point I am giving up on the v92 PCI creative modem and was
wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable hardware (NO WIN MODEMS)
based PCI modem (mobo has no ISA slots) to work with this system.

Motherboard: Asus A7V133
512 MB
ATI Radeon VE AGP 64MB
Advansys LVD2/UW SCSI
Advansys Narrow SCSI
LinkSYS 10/100 Etherfast
SoundBlaster Live

There are no IDE devices being used, motherboard sound and modem are
disabled in bios.
