ASUS make some of the *best* m/b's on the market. They are well-known for
reliability, stability, & high-quality workmanship. [www.anandtech.com &
www.ljsystems.com swear by ASUS for these reasons]. I have bought several
used ASUS boards which are working fine years later; OTOH, I've had even
Intel mainboards give-out on me. ASUS includes the excellent Award bios.
Usually you pay a bit more for ASUS hardware, maybe 30% more than for an
equivalent Abit m/b.

Also, ASUS has just released boards w/ a 'jumperless' feature [P3B-F] similar
to that which has made Abit king of overclockers; in addition, ASUS just
released a Slot A board for Athlons [K7M].

IMO, "$aving money" is never a great idea on a computer system, if your data
is of any importance to you. Of all the parts to a computer system, the
system mainboard is of highest importance [a good drive can still be
scrambled by a bad controller; you're looking at a hard-knocks student of
this fact]. Save your $$ on the keyboard, mouse, & monitor; don't skimp on
M/B, drive(s), and power-supply; your data will thank you ;D

(...but if you use your computer as much as I do, you'll quickly decide not
to skimp on keyboard, mouse, or monitor either ;D)
