hello everyone

i have the following questins regarding  a genius 56K PCI modem

1. it reuire a pentium class cpu to oporate!! why? in the read me file it
says that the modem will not functions properly on CPU's with slow FPU's.
what does a modem have to do with the cpu.

2. one of the isp that i'm using does not want to connect with this modem.
the handshake goes on for ever and nothing happens. when i Install the old
modem everything runs fine(albit slow).

i have a Cyrix 6X6 @150MHZ  (pr200)
