I have been trying to reinstall Windows 98 in a 6GHz
Western Digital hd. which is about 5 years old. The hd
successfully formats and Windows 98 installs.

However, Windows does not boot and an error message
reports that VFAT initialization failed and system
halted.

I am guessing the hd is bad and that is why I am
posting to PCBuild. Is that probably so or is there
a fix for VFAT initialization failure?

Thanks in advance for your help.
