Raymond:
The modem should have an FCC ID number on it. For internal modems, the
number will be printed on a white label affixed to the card.  (I don't
know how they do it on external modems.) You can then identify the
manufacturer by going to:
www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid
This site even has some help on locating the appropriate drivers.
