We'd like to have a seperate machine doing our network backups. While it
would be nice to be able to go out and buy a brand new server, that's not
possible and so I would like to use an extra machine we have: Dell
OptiPlex GXi. I'd like to put a Seagate Cheetah 9LP, 10,000RPM drive in
that box but I'm concerned about heat. I've never added an additional fan
to a computer and most people recommend adding one if I want to use that
kind of drive. A minority say that heat wouldn't be an issue but I don't
want to risk it.

What do people think about the Seagate Cheetah 9LP? What about adding an
additional fan? Where would I look to buy a fan, much less know if I can
fit one in there?

Any information would be appreciated.
