Pastor John,

All of a sudden problems can be hardware related, but more often come from a
sudden software or driver conflicts.

Have you checked the Device Manager for the ATI audio & video drivers to see
if they now have any resource or driver conflicts?
Do you remember installing anything new just before the sudden failures?
Have you checked to make sure that the default capture mode's codec is still
in the Multimedia Devices tab and that the driver is still under the Video
Capture devices? You should be able to download & reinstall codecs from the
Net in case any are corrupt.
Have you downloaded and installed the most recent ATI video card and
multimedia drivers/software for each operating system you've tried?
Have you checked ATI's problems database for recommendations?

Unless your drives (DVD, Zip or HDD) are very old, I'd recommend the DMA
setting. If it causes problems, use safe mode to set them back.
