HI.

Possibly, or maybe some other device on the same linee got zapped.
Remove all other devices (phones, answering machines, other modems, etc)
and then try the modem

When I "query modem"  The modem cannot be found. Does this mean that
something is physically wrong with the modem?  Maybe it was struck by
lightning?
