Greetings--

I found this link (not on an MS page or a Brother page) when I did a Google search.  When you choose your OS and HL, you get a list including the model in question.  I didn't continue, because it wanted me to install (perhaps?) a download manager to get the file.  It may be a possibility for you though, if you want to check it out.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Looking for a driver

My wife's new machine is running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home
Premium.  She does NOT want it connected to the Internet, but she WOULD
like to use her Brother HL-630 laser printer with it.
(The "30" just encodes how much buffer RAM is in the printer; the same
driver should work with any "HL-6" model.)

First of all, I bought a USB-to-Parallel cable which takes care of the
physical connection.

Google finds for me the information that no driver for this printer is
included with Windows 7, but Brother says it can be downloaded via
Windows Update.  That's difficult to access without connecting to the
Internet....

BUT when I point my 32-bit Win 7 Ultimate system at Windows update,
"HL-6" is not amongst the Brother models listed.  It *might* just be
that it is only showing me 32-bit drivers, so I'm not yet certain that
the driver I need doesn't exist.

So my request, to someone running 64-bit Win7 connected to the
Internet, is (a) to determine if an HL-6 driver is in fact available
from Windows Update, and (b) if it is, to try and capture it and send it
to me.

I'm willing to experiment with a 32-bit driver if one surfaces, up to
and including, if necessary, backing her off to the 32-bit version of
Win7 Home Premium.  Or a version that works on OSX 10.4 (Tiger),
although It would be nicer to print directly from Win7....

(Or maybe someone will come up with an alternative that I'm just not
seeing...
