It's either that OR the (case or CPU) fan bearings OR the CD-ROM drive
bearings. Run scandisk on the hard drive and see if there are any disk
errors/bad sectors. If not, it's probably one of the other items.

Regards,

Charlie

Subject: [PCBUILD] Hard drive failure?

Dear listmembers,
When I turned my computer on this morning
I heard a grinding noise which lasted a few
minutes. Is that an indication of an
imminent hard drive failure?
TIA
