Hi, forgive me if someone has already suggested this, but have you tried
uninstalling (properly) and reinstalling your burning program?
I had a problem at one time with Nero and no matter what I did I couldn't
get it to work. It had been working fine up until then.
Eventually, I uninstalled and reinstalled and it's been fine ever since.
I have just noticed that both the cd and the floppy drive are causing you
problems.
Have you tried removing ALL drivers and reinstalling them?
It is possible also, that either the ribbons, p/s or m/b are the problem.
Have you tried new ribbons for both the cd and floppy drives? Have you got a
spare p/s you could try?( I had a problem once with a power supply with
loose connections)
Is your hard drive working ok? If so, have you thought of running both the
hard drive and cd from the one ribbon as master and slave?(even if for
experimental purposes)
(make sure you set the jumpers on the drives correctly)
If the cd drive then works, you will know that you have a m/b problem and
can begin to work on a solution.
I'm exploring quite a few possibilities here, and it's also possible that
your problem is none of the above.
I wish you luck and hope you can solve this.
HTH
