Is this the FULL error msg? if not and reads as below (and you have partitioned your HDD in NTFS )

" Disk I/O Error: Status = 00000001"  then the following microsoft knowledge base article should help.

If so then the boot floppy should show your cd rom with a drive letter NEXT to the letter you normally have ( if normal drive letter is E then in the boot disk it will be F.) so at the "A" Prompt type F:\ and show the path to set up in your win 2000 cd after placing the cd in the cd rom drive.
