Paul, I have RH8 on a 4.5g partition and it uses 1.9 for the personal
desktop(without KDE desktop installed).  The RH9 is about the same size(also
without KDE and using the defaults, and adding xcdroast for CD burning)
They both seem to be running fine, but I don't store a lot of pictures on
the partitions.  HTH
