There was a program some time ago from PC Magazine that was called Change Of
Address. It was precisely for the purpose of what you want to do. It would
allow you to move programs to a new location and the needed registry entries
were automatically made. I don't know if it will work on XP, or if there is
a new version that will. There are likely other utilities that will do so as
well.
