I'm experiencing the following problem.
My computer has lost its ability to boot. When it starts, it goes to a
screen that says "windows could not start because the following files
are missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system. You can
attempt to repair the problem by using the original start-up disk to boot."

The problem is that my original start-up 'disk' was a cd-rom and my
computer won't boot from a cd, only a disk. I have tried downloading
the ms windows xp system setup disk that is featured on freepctech.com,
but was completely unsucessful in repairing the problem.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would be grateful. I can provide more
info if needed.

Best,
Jeni Wright
