fixmbr (XP-Pro) gets me:
"an invalid or nonstandard partition table signature is detected",
(and I am prompted whether I want to continue.)

(Warning)
"If you are not having problems accessing your drives,
you should not continue. Writing a new master boot record
to your system partition could damage your partition tables
and cause your partitions to become inaccessible."

Where can I find out more about the exact nature of what is "nonstandard"?
The MSKB is not much help finding the specifics, (as far as I can tell).
