Thanks Jim and Dean for the replays,
I have done the first step as Jim suggested. Make sure all the monitor cable
connection are firmly and tightly. And so far so good, the screen seems
quite stable at this time. I am still not sure the problem is soloved. I
should mention that I used to using an old colour monitor with this machine
and it works fine for a couple of years then found RED colour gone. I
thought that is the problem of the old monitor. After I changed to current
new monitor everything is fine for about 6 month. then the BLUE colour
become the ghost. The old colour montor is working ok with my old computer
without colour loss. So I still suspect the video card is the problem or
this just a coincidence?

Thanks again

William H

<snip of the problem as below>
William, this is rarely (but not impossible) a driver problem. It is
a usually a hardware problem. And that limits the problem to
these three components: the monitor, the video card, the cable
that connects the two.

The quickest and easiest troubleshooting test is to make sure
all the monitor wires are connected firmly and tightly at the monitor
and the back of the PC case.

If everything is plugged in good and tight, then next move the
monitor to a different computer (a friend or at work) to see if
the problem follows the monitor.

If it does not follow the monitor, then borrow a known good monitor
and plug it in to your pc to prove the problem is in the video card.

Good luck,
Jim Meagher
