NICs are easy to install, and cheap ($15.00 to $20.00).
Get a PCI card, open the case (Sometimes the trickiest part) and go for
it. Many computer manuals offer detailed instructions for installing
cards and opening the case, so you might check there first.
I Googled "Install PCI card Tutorial" and found this page, which looks
pretty comprehensive:

As long as you're in there, get some canned air and clean out the dust
bunnies.
